The Montarbo P.B. 2 is a Phase Shifter + Fuzz pedal, made in Italy in the '70s. It runs on 220v and has a Sinfhoton fuzz circuit (a vintage '70s Montarbo silicon fuzz) + a phaser with three footswitches for speed (low, medium, fast) with a speed knob control. Fuzz has volume and tone control. Both effects sounds very nice, the phaser is warm and "liquid", and fuzz has a lot of gain, and you can go from great "lead tone" to "a wall of sound"...
The Blackfield Orchester Elektronik Rotor Effekt is a wonderful vintage pedal: it is a leslie/rotary speaker simulator and vibrato effect pedal produced in Germany in the '70s. Rare and underrated, it has a great leslie effect ("univibe" style) and a superb vibrato, with two speed slide controls (and a speed switch) and a depth control. Enjoy!

The Moreschi Octave Fuzz was produced in Italy in the '70s, in Castelfidardo. Probably his production is connected with the Electronic Sounds by Gary Hurst brand: the circuit seems to be similar to the Electronic Sounds/UFO Doubler, maybe inspired by the Foxx Tone Machine. Enjoy!

The Dizzy Tone was produced in Italy by Elka (keyboards, synth, leslie, etc.), probably at the end of the sixties. Basically it's a Buzzaround circuit, one of my favorite fuzz, but more aggressive. Controls are Attack (Tone/timbre), Balance and Sustain. It sounds amazing, enjoy!
The Jen Fuzz & Sustain was produced by Jen Elettronica in Italy, in the 70's.
It is part of the "plate steel" series, with Phase Shifter (I'll post a clip pretty soon!) and Flanger.
Dear friends,
today I want to gather a few links about the birth and the history of fuzz, to have easier access to the information on the web and gain better knowledge about the world of vintage fuzz effects.

So, let's begin by reading a bit of history on the D*A*M forum:
http://www.stompboxes.co.uk/History.html

....and a nice article on Premier Guitar:
http://www.premierguitar.com/Magazine/Issue/2009/Oct/Stompbox_Classics_Tone_Bender.aspx

You can check the "Tone Machines" blog (thanks Ed!), it's filled with interesting posts about vintage effect pedals, and also the great "Effects Database" (thanks Bart!):
http://tonemachines.blogspot.it/
http://www.effectsdatabase.com

For any information about the Big Muff we can go on Kit Rae's awesome site:
http://www.kitrae.net/music/music_big_muff.html
http://www.kitrae.net/music/Fuzz_Big_Muff_Timeline.html

If you want to know something else about "Fuzz Face" and "Tube Screamer" you can check:
Finally, an interesting article (Guitar magazine) with Gary Hurst on the "Italian Shadow Community":
